Rosie & Fraser’s Wedding: A Magical Day at Shrewsbury Cathedral and Morrells Wood Farm
Some weddings truly take your breath away, and Rosie and Fraser’s special day was one of them. I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of their journey, capturing the magic of their wedding. From the awe-inspiring Roman Catholic Shrewsbury Cathedral to the serene beauty of Morrells Wood Farm, this was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
A Grand Ceremony at Shrewsbury Cathedral
The day started with a sense of grandeur at the stunning Shrewsbury Cathedral. There’s something about the majestic architecture and the peaceful atmosphere that makes it a truly special place for a wedding. The soft light pouring through the stained glass, the echo of footsteps on the stone floor, and the hum of anticipation—it all set the stage perfectly for Rosie and Fraser’s vows.
As Rosie walked down the aisle, you could feel the emotion in the room. There’s something timeless about a cathedral wedding, and Shrewsbury’s Roman Catholic cathedral provided the most breathtaking backdrop. Every moment was steeped in tradition, and yet Rosie and Fraser’s personal touches made it feel uniquely theirs.
A Handfasting Ceremony at Morrells Wood Farm
After the formalities of the cathedral, we headed to the stunning Morrells Wood Farm, where the atmosphere shifted to something a little more rustic, intimate, and personal. Surrounded by rolling fields and the serene countryside, Rosie and Fraser held a beautiful handfasting ceremony under the open sky. This ancient tradition, tying their hands together in a symbolic gesture of unity, added such a unique and personal touch to their day.
The farm itself is something to behold—rustic, charming, and full of character. Morrells Wood Farm really provided the perfect balance between relaxed countryside vibes and the elegance of a wedding celebration. There’s no shortage of picturesque spots for photos, and the backdrop of the Shropshire hills added an extra layer of beauty to every shot.
A Reunion with the Coxhead Family
This wedding was particularly special for me, as it marked the third time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a Coxhead family wedding. It’s such an honour to be invited back, time after time, to capture new moments and reunite with familiar faces. The Coxhead family has such a welcoming and warm spirit, and each wedding I’ve photographed has been uniquely different, yet equally filled with love, laughter, and joy.
Rosie and Fraser’s wedding was no different—their day was filled with heartfelt moments, from their personal vows to the shared laughter during the speeches. And being surrounded by such a close-knit and joyful family made it all the more special. For me, it’s these kinds of connections that make wedding photography so rewarding. It felt like stepping back into a family reunion, seeing the same friendly faces while capturing a brand-new love story.
Capturing the Real, Raw, and Heartfelt Moments
As a documentary-style photographer, my goal is always to capture the authentic moments—the ones that often go unnoticed but carry the most emotion. Rosie and Fraser’s wedding was filled with these moments, from the tender glances they shared during the ceremony, to the joyous dancing under the stars at Morrells Wood Farm.
Every wedding tells its own story, and Rosie and Fraser’s was one of timeless love, family, and the perfect blend of elegance and down-to-earth charm. It was an absolute joy to document their day and preserve these memories for them to treasure for years to come.
